Sixers Set Starting Lineup For Opener

The permutations were endless. The Sixers could’ve started any number of combinations as their starting five – but coach Doug Collins appears to have settled on his group:

Guards Jrue Holiday, Andre Iguodala and Jason Kapono, power forward Elton Brand and center Spencer Hawes.

No. 2 overall pick Evan Turner will be coming off the bench, probably alongside Lou Williams.

The Sixers’ starting lineup for tonight’s game against LeBron James and the Miami Heat is one Collins said could change only if something dramatic happens.

“That’s the group we’ve sort of been going with. Kapono brings an element to that group that we need and that’s making shots,” Collins told reporters, “and we feel like coming off the bench we have guys who will blend well with the others.”
