Sixers Work Overtime, Beat Warriors
WELLS FARGO CENTER – Evan Turner scored eight of his 20 points in overtime, as the 76ers pulled out a 125-117 victory over Golden State Sunday.
Andre Iguodala recorded his second triple-double in as many games and Jodie Meeks scored 10 of his 11 points (including two vital 3-pointers) after the 1:45 mark of regulation, as the Sixers moved two games over .500 (at 32-30) for the first time this season.
Thaddeus Young scored 20 points for the Sixers. Iguodala collected 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Sixers led by 18 in the second quarter, only to see the Warriors (27-35) storm back. And with Monta Ellis scalding in the fourth period – he had 18 of his 27 in the period – it looked like that would be enough to carry the day.
But Meeks nailed his first triple from left wing with 1:45 left to draw the Sixers even at 100-all. That started a 7-0 run that made it 104-100 with 14.9 seconds to play. But Ellis sandwiched two impossible 3s around two free throws by Meeks to tie it.
The Sixers never trailed in the extra period, and Meeks’ triple from the right corner gave them a working margin, at 112-108.
Lou Williams had 19 points for the Sixers. Stephen Curry added 22 for Golden State.
