Raul Ibanez Scratched With Groin Soreness
CITIZENS BANK PARK — Left fielder Raul Ibanez was scratched from the Phillies lineup prior to Monday night’s game against the visiting Mets with a sore groin.
John Mayberry, Jr. will take his place.
“Raul’s got a little soreness,” Charlie Manuel said. “We’ll give him a break today.”
Mayberry connected for a two-run homer to left in the third inning to put the Phillies up 5-0 at the time. The home run was his 11th of the season, with 20 of his last 31 hits going for extra bases, including nine home runs.
