DeSean Jackson, Michael Vick Will Not Practice
DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick won’t be on the practice field on Wednesday, but Jeremy Maclin will. Eagles coach Andy Reid announced the injuries that are still plaguing his team, some from before last Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Jackson, who left MetLife Stadium with a walking boot on his right foot, will watch from the sidelines as his team practices. He finished with eight catches for 88 yards and added a 51-yard punt return that set up Vince Young’s touchdown pass to Steve Smith late in the first half. Jackson told Philly Sports Daily on Sunday that he injured his foot on the fourth play of the game after hauling in a seven-yard completion.
“We’ll see how he does here in the next couple of days,” said Reid. “The swelling didn’t come all the way out. There’s no breaks in there or tears or anything, it just swelled up on him from being stepped on.”
Vick didn’t throw at all last week, but did manage to get a little work in on Tuesday. By the sounds of it, it did not go well.
“He didn’t do much,” said Reid. “He can still feel it.”
Reid said he would go day-to-day with Vick like last week, and that Young would get all the first-team reps in the interim.
Maclin, who sat out last week with injuries to his shoulder and hamstring, will suit up and take part in practice.
King Dunlap is still sidelined with a concussion. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle) told Philly Sports Daily that he has been ruled out for this game to his knowledge and is trying to return next Thursday against the Seahawks.
