Eagles Meet With DT Jarvis Jenkins

The Eagles brought in Clemson defensive tackle Jarvis Jenkins for a visit Monday, according to his agent, Joe Flanagan.

The 6-4, 315-pounder is widely considered a top-100 prospect and may very well be selected in the second round. A First-Team All-ACC honoree and three-year starter for the Tigers, Jenkins posted 164 tackles, 31 tackles for a loss and five sacks over his collegiate career.

One other NFC East team is believed to have met with Jenkins.

General Manager Howie Roseman is on record as saying that he believes defensive line is the deepest position in this draft, and it would be of little surprise if the Eagles went in that direction with at least a couple of their 10 draft picks. They are slated to bring in Temple defensive tackle Muhammad Wilkerson on April 15, and will also reportedly meet with Oregon State DT Stephen Paea.

Here is a list of the Eagles’ current picks in the 2011 NFL Draft, which runs from April 28-30:

1st round – 23rd overall

2nd round – 54th overall

3rd round – 85th overall

4th round – 104th overall (from Washington)
