Drexel’s Win Streak Ends At Six As Conference Play Opens

The Dragons opened the new year with CAA play and it wasn’t pretty. With a 24 turnovers, they gave away a 58-44 decision to Georgia State.

Both teams struggled from the field, but Drexel let Georgia State run with it.

Although the Dragons out-rebounded the Panthers 34-24, 12 being offensive rebounds, Drexel’s 24 turnovers closed the door on any chance the Dragons had of winning.

Not only did turnovers cause problems for the Dragons, they kept sending the Panthers to the free-throw line. The Dragons went 9-for-14 from the free-throw line while the Panthers went 27-for-31.

The Dragons struggled to execute offensively. However, Chris Fouch continued to provide a spark off the bench with a team-high 18 points.

Samme Givens was held to just four points, but the senior collected 11 rebounds.

Frantz Massenat was the only starter to score more than five points. He had nine. Four of the five Georgia State starters scored in double figures.

Georgia State’s Devonta White scored 15 points. The Panthers extend their win streak to 10 and ended Drexel’s at six.
