Penn State To Face Houston In TicketCity Bowl
Penn State still has a lot to deal with in the aftermath of the Jerry Sandusky allegations, but they’ll still get to go bowling. On Sunday night, the 24th-ranked Nittany Lions found out that they will face No. 20 University of Houston in the TicketCity Bowl in Dallas on Jan. 2.
The Nittany Lions finished their season 9-3; Houston was 12-1. The Cougars were looking forward to a BCS game, but got crushed by Southern Miss in the Conference USA title game 49-28 on Saturday. That also crushed their hopes of playing in a better bowl game.
This will be the second year for the TicketCity Bowl. In the inaugural game, Texas Tech beat Northwestern, 45-38. The game will be played at the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2, ending what has been a tumultuous year for the Penn State football program.
