Temple’s Muhammad Wilkerson To Visit Eagles

The Eagles will take another look at Temple defensive tackle Muhammad Wilkerson before the draft.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Wilkerson is currently scheduled to visit with the Eagles on April 15.

The 6’4, 315-pound Wilkerson has been garnering a lot of attention around the league, and was recently listed as the 10th best prospect on Mel Kiper’s draft board. In one of the more unpredictable drafts in recent memory, Wilkerson is being slotted anywhere from eighth overall to as low as the second round. Philadelphia currently holds the 23rd overall selection.

The Eagles have not been shy about their interest in the Linden, New Jersey product. Andy Reid, general manager Howie Roseman and new defensive line coach Jim Washburn all attended Temple’s Pro Day on March 18. And Reid had this to say about him at the owners meetings in New Orleans.

“I kind of like him. He’s a good player,” Reid told reporters. “I think he’s flexible. I think he can do a lot of different things. I think in our scheme he can play inside, outside, give you pass rush, good athlete.”

Wilkerson, a first-team All-MAC honoree, led the Owls with 13 tackles for a loss and 9 ½ sacks in 2010 as a junior. Known as both a quality pass rusher and run-stopper, he racked up 17 sacks and 139 tackles in three seasons with Temple.
