Everything you need to know about Philadelphia sports this Tuesday morning:
1. The Phillies once again flirted with injury. Shane Victorino and Raul Ibanez collided in yesterday’s game against Boston. Despite another added injury, the only serious one remains to be Chase Utley’s. John Miller writes that with the injuries piling up for the Phillies, their offense is in serious jeopardy. The fans got some good news though. They were voted most loyal in baseball.
2. According to a report the Eagles had been offered a first-round pick for the services of Kevin Kolb. Also, Tim McManus explores the community outreach that Michael Vick has done recently.
3. Chris Pronger was on the ice with the Flyers yesterday. He and the Flyers prepare for a tough week ahead although they’re happy to be home again. Tonight the Flyers will take on the Eastern Conference’s second-place Washington Capitals.
4. The Sixers have injury issues as well with both Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala were limited participants in practice. Meanwhile, the Sixers are fighting for their playoff lives and a six seed. The Sixers coach has picked his NCAA Tournament favorite, but many people won’t like his choice.
5. The Temple women’s basketball team dropped its second-round matchup against No. 2 Notre Dame. The Owls have never made it to the Sweet 16.
